Need help, or at least an explanation.

Whenever I plug my Apple Earpods into my phone it recognizes that it's plugged in but sound plays through my phone's speakers instead of my earphones. The weird thing is that when plugged into my laptop they work fine. Does anyone know what's going on?

PS: I use them in an Android and a Windows 10

do you have a case on your phone that may be preventing them from being plugged in all the way . try taking the case off and plugging in

No, my phone is caseless.

do other headphones work with your phone? might be your headphone jack, also could be pocket lint, which can be picked out with a needle

did you check if there is any lint in the port? is it just your apple EarPods or others aswell?

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

I couldn't really see well, so I'll use a flashlight later. But this has just been happening with my EarPods.

Update: I checked and there is no lint in my earphone jack
