Larger version of the Nintendo DSi, released March 2010 in North America. Most repairs are accomplished with only a screwdriver and prying tools.

Black screen, "An error has occurred." Possible memory corruption?

I was looking through the pictures on my DSi XL and suddenly I was greeted with a message telling me that my system memory had been corrupted. Moments later the system's screen went black and a message appeared on the bottom screen: "An error has occurred. Pres and hold the Power Button to turn the system off. Please see the Nintendo DSi Operations Manuel for help troubleshooting." The first thing that I did was turn off the system and turn it back on. The screen turned white like usual, but then I am greeted with the same message on the black screen. I tried looking this problem up in the DSi Operations Manual, but I could not find anything useful. I am unable to access the DSi menu, so I can't enter settings to wipe my system memory. I've had the system for over five years, and I've never encountered this problem. Any suggestions?
