Why is my iPhone 6s vibrating but not turning on?

I recently cracked my phone and it was working but it was starting to shutdown by itself (with high battery still left) for about 10 minutes and then i was able to tun it back on and it would be fine. However, now my phone about half an hour ago has shutdown by itself and the screen is blank but when i plug the charger in it it will still vibrate and when i flick the sound switch off it vibrates.

Please tell me why it is doing this or what i can do to fix it. Do I need a knew screen or is it a software problem? Please help!

Your phone is still on. When you cracked your screen, most likely you damaged your LCD. I would recommend ordering a new screen and testing that out if you are comfortable doing so. It would need to be the LCD/Digitizer full assembly. Relatively easily to fix, you will just have to transfer the home button and front camera assembly to the new one. Just be aware that there is adhesive keeping the screen down and be careful with your home button. If it is damaged, you will lose your Touch ID.

Thank you so much! Is it safer to get a shop to fix it for me?

Good news! I held the home screen button and off button for ten seconds :)) this wasn't working 2 hours ago but i left it for a while and its working fine now but I'm still going to fix the screen because I don't want it to happen again. Thank you for your help!! :))))

You're very welcome! I'm glad the soft reset worked for you. If it starts doing that issue more often, definitely get the screen done. It is safer to have a shop do it, as there are screws related to the screen that can short the board if placed in the wrong spot, but the ifixit guide is pretty spot on if you are feeling adventurous.
