I could not find anything online that helped me solve this, so I took matters into my own hands. Once disassembled, I saw the pump was leaking a small amount of water on the backstroke. I took the pump off and disassembled it, sure enough, there was a broken piece inside. I do have pictures, but can't upload them here. Bought a replacement pump off ebay and it's as good as new now.

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

All I know is, I am returning my keurig. Second time I used it out of the box, literally, reservoir was completely full and the "add water" wouldn't go away. I WANTED COFFEE!!! Sorry, I'm a serious coffee drinker. Only when I got angry and shook the coffee machine it started to work right. I shouldn't have to dick with this kind of problem right out the box.

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

Mine is still saying fill tank with water. I have tried everything and now getting really angry

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

I have had this problem a few times after a period of nonuse! An air lock develops and turning the machine upside down and shaking it seemed to solve the problem. It is like a pump that needs to be primed. Add water to the reservoir and continue to try. Eventually it will fill all the plastic tubing inside.

crwdns2933315:010crwdne2933315:0

crwdns2934051:0crwdne2934051:0

I had this problem because there was air in the line so the pump couldn't prime. I solved my issue by filling the reservoir about 1/4 full and placing it back on the machine. Then I basically lifted the reservoir up and down rapidly and saw little air bubbles coming up from the place where the water intake is in the bottom. I did this until the air bubbles stopped appearing. It creates some sort of vacuum inside the machine I think and gets the air out of the line so the pump can prime. Anyway, I then filled up the reservoir with water and turned the machine on. It finally sucked water into the internal tank much to my relief. I've read other people have had similar issues after having put their machine in storage while moving. No one tells you how they fix it though. Just thought I would share my fix-it to try in case it can help someone else. Best of luck!

Again, worked like a charm... thanks for actually saying how you fixed it!

They also make a maintenance tool that actually goes in the brewer like a k cup. It looks like a little bulb inside an orange ring. Fill the bulb with water and place in the Keurig. With the machine unplugged, open and close the lid at least 5 times. My bulb was full of grounds after I did this. Worked like a charm!

The 'out of water' indicator means the reservoir doesn't have enough water. If there truly is enough water in the reservoir, then the switch to indicate a low level (usually a float mechanism) must be stuck. Try checking that.

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

Awww thank you I been watching YouTube videos and nothing works once I did what you said it started to work after I filled the reservoir with water to the maximum level !! The screen click on thank you again!!

Happy Keurig coffee drinker !!

It turns out that I have to fill reservoir to maximum line, to maximize pressure on bottom of reservoir.

With 1/2 reservoir, you get half of pressure. The higher pressure , the more water Keurig sucks.

I thought that was the problem too, but got me it wasn't. It was the reusable filter. The water couldn't get thru it. Read my reply "mericle".

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

I lowed the water to 1/4 and placed it back, started the cycle and the the machine corrected itself.

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

It was wrong design for water filter on side. I bought a

CHULUX Single Serve Coffee Maker

with water filter on top (easy to be cleaned and taken out)

Solve the problem.

I tried everything and couldn't get a full cup of coffee. Vinegar, cleaning the decanter, cleaning the intake spout under the decanter, nothing worked. Couldn't get a full cup of coffee. I use a reusable wire mesh filter cup but couldn't get enough water to go thru it. I also make my own filter cups from basket filters. So I thought maybe it was too much for the water to get through because of the mesh and paper but it always worked in the beginning. So I thought maybe if I poked a small hole thru the bottom of the wire mesh simulating the kcups and the water flowed through with no obstruction. I am environmentally conscious and will not put/add plastic in a landfill if I can avoid it. I just had to think about it for a bit. Now I get a full cup of coffee.

Mine still isn't working. It comes on, pump tries to draw water, it acts like it did, then no water comes out. I have completely removed the outer casing, cleaned all the circuit boards, tried forcing with the turkey baster, tried to do the air bubble pump, EVERY THING, nothing is getting the pump to work. I know it needs to be descaled but I can't do that if it won't draw the water from the tank. Help!!

crwdns2944067:04crwdne2944067:0:

one thing that helped me when it wouldnt make a sound.is boil water, than add it to the kurig.the steam and slight pressure makes it pump.once it does that.than do the descaling.of coarse.when you add the boiling water to the kurig.push brew and go to safe distance to makes sure nothing bad happens

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

you can use a crazy straw on the needle and puker away untill you get a mouth full of water to make the float for the need water light to come on again.that simple process draws all air bubbles out.much like bleeding brakes on a car.which i had some see through tubing from car work that i used.lol.that was the only thing that made the float work.after hours of descaling cycles cuz the machine was my sisters, shes a nurse and never had the time to descale.so that kurig was in very bad shape.this has been a long road of learning.i must have 20 hrs time in this learning coarse

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

the crazy straw or tubing technique in theory should allso get the water up if pump not working.but adding the pre heated water on a non pump draw thing, worked every time.as i said.it was my sisters.she had it for years with no descaling.so it took quite a bit.after a few descale cycles where you have vinegar in the tank hit brew.than stop brew in middle of cup full.and let sit for an hour or more to let the vinegar soak the parts to loosen up the thick mineral build up.finally it was being normal.than the straw over the top needle draw air out got float working.i hope this helps someone,or better yet, all.this will work on any model if its only descale trouble and air in the system.this model ive resusitated is a k-10.

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

oh.i forgot to mention, the k-10 doesnt have a filter.so thats one less problem to deal with.generally.the early single cup small resevoir units dont.and rinse cycle after every brew.

crwdns2934285:0crwdne2934285:0

The following are some possible reasons why your Keurig not pumping water.

  1. Clogged water lines
  2. Air bubbles in water channels lead to blockage
  3. Dirty needles
  4. Magnet misaligned
  5. Faulty or clogged mesh screen in the reservoir
  6. Damaged pump
