jimmiller1940, as a general answer since we do not know which tach you have, most aftermarket tachometers only have 3 or 4 wires that need to be connected. Usually a green wire for the tach, red for power, black for ground, and white or yellow for the back light. The power wire that gets connected to a 12 volt ignition source, the tach signal wire that connects to the coil or the designated signal wire in your cars wiring diagram.
