F1 Key (Brightness Down) gets stuck

Hi there!

The f1 key on my macbook occasionally gets stuck. I'll be working just fine and all of a sudden get system sounds as if I'm pressing an invalid key, but i'll hear about 50 of them in a row, until I press the f1 key to 'cancel' the stuck key. Or if I have f keys set to system functions, the screen will dim to black with the bezel displayed.

This also causes my macbook to wake from sleep.

Some googling causes me to suspect that it's a nicked 'orange flat cable' but beyond that I am not sure.

Thoughts?

With the Mac off and battery disconnected pop off the stuck key examine the clip, for good measure take rubbing alcohol and scrub with a toothbrush , fasten key at see if it still sticks.

I popped the key of completely, it's just the rubber nipple, still sticks.
