How to extract the hard drive from a compaq 17XL372

Compaq Laptop

Before merging with HP, Compaq manufactured a full range of laptop computers. Now they are manufactured by HP mostly with basic features.

I've got an old laptop Compaq 17XL372.

I need to take out the hard drive.

I could not find the service manual on HP's Support site, but I found an archived copy on archive.org. The instructions appear on page 89.

I will proceed this way! I was afraid to pull to strongly. Those old IDE drive ain't nearly as smooth as a Sata!
