No power response at the control panel

I have a Whirlpool Quiet Partner 1 and the Panel has no lights. I have tested the heating fuse and it is good. I have tested the 2 switches in the door and they are good. However when i depress the switch actuator on the door i get power only through 1 side to the main board (the black and brown wires.) The switch with the white and white/purple wires still has no power. Is that correct or should i have power coming through both switches? I don't want to replace the main board if it turns out to be a problem with power getting to the board.

Also, when i removed and replaced the main board, the unit did power on and make a little dry noise for about 20 seconds. during that time the wash cycle green light came on. When it stopped the panel was unresponsive again with no lights.
