Hi! I'm repairing the screen of my galaxy note 3(just the glass) and have heard that I need a blow dryer or heat gun to melt the glue and remove the glass. I don't own any of these and was wondering if I could use the metal tip of a hot glue gun to melt the glue by pressing it up against the phone. Thank you!

Good way to burn the LCD wouldn't try it . you need an even overall heat to soften the glue. tip of a glue gun will just heat the spot you touch.

Definitely not! Hot glue gun is too hot and a point source of heat. Hot air gun will warm the whole are of the screen so causing less stress on the glass. The reason to heat it is to make the glue holding it down will become softer.
