LCD Screen flickers while I am zooming in and out.

I have a Sony NEX-5r and I love this camera but recently when I try to use the camera to take a picture or video, the LCD screen flickers when I go to zoom in and out and i wont take a picture or video until the flickering stops. But if I don't touch the lens the screen does not flicker. All the other features on the camera works great. The only problem I am having is with the flickering. I am thinking there is a connection problem or something along those lines. Can someone help me fix this problem without sending to Sony to get repaired. I would really appreciate it.
