Why my video does not show?

I just bought all new adapters (SCART/HDMI video scaler), new AC power adapter for the console (Sega Genesis II). Problem is that everything plugged in, but the video does not show anything on the screen. Just a blank black screen.

When it comes down to engineering stuff, I am total newbie. Please let me know how can I get it fixed?
