Replacing 27" Cinema Display LCD with iMac LCD

I'm trying to replace my 27" Cinema Display's LCD but I'm unsure about compatible panels.

I need LM270WQ1(SD)(B1) but do other panels work too? Like the ones for the 27" iMac?

Btw, it's not the Thunderbolt-version.

Thanks!

It will work with the iMac display, but you’ll have to transfer the display board and backlight of the old display. I did it and it works great.

I am interested in this solution... I have good known display boards, but did not understand the backlight part of the answer. Do you mean the LCD function cable, or the actual led strip? Can you elaborate?

from what I can tell, the cable that goes to the led strip has the same connector in the two displays...
