Vizio light flashes no picture

I have a vizio xvt553sv when you try to power on the t.v. The vizio light on the front just flashes. I've tried a power cycle but the television still will not turn on.

I'm having the same issue now. Black screen, directv is still audible, and the t.v. cycles itself on & off with a blinking power light. Vizios blow!

I've replaced a few capacitors on my older tv. One was hard to find, they usually show a burn mark. If you have a multi reader and patients you will find it since there are quite a few of them. Soldering skills are necessary. Good thing s capacitors are cheap.

Try unplugging the television, holding power for 30 seconds, then replugging and see if it turns on. If not, a capacitor may be blown on the PSU board, and you would either have to replace the capacitor or the whole board.

I had the problem. We unplugged it. Waited 30 seconds. Then plugged it back in, then repeatedly tried to turn it back on. Eventually, about 5 or six times, it came back on. Be patient with the on button.

It worked for me. I hope it works for you

I am also currently experiencing the issue. Last time I had the issue I unplug the TV for a few hours and then went back to it and it happened to work. I believe the problem was caused by plugging a USB fan into the TV so that it could help keep my xbox cool without needing another USB port over there. Using the fan wasn't a problem until I turned the TV off and tried to turn it on again. I hope this help somebody. Say a prayer for me and my TV will wake up.
