replaced broken blower motor resistor block works worse now

2001 Oldsmobile Alero - my blower fan was only working on the highest 2 settings I replaced the resistor block and now it's only working on the highest setting does anyone know why this might have happened or what could b wrong?

When the resistor goes its usually on the high settings if more than one works its usually the switch on the control that needs replacing . If it was the resistor and it went as soon as you installed it you need to replace the motor. Hope this helps
