The Canon EOS 5D Mark II is a 21.1-megapixel full-frame CMOS digital single-lens reflex (DSLR) camera with video recording capabilities.

USB port is damaged.

Hi My USB connection on the Camera doesn't work anymore. Can you fix it and how much does it cost? Also do you have a replacement cap for the Terminal System connection on the bottom plate of the camera?

Hi Gary,

I'm afraid you may have a mistaken impression as to what iFixit is all about. The thing is, they do not do repairs; rather they're a resource for people who want information so they can repair their own devices. So the answer to your first question is no, they cannot fix your camera. With regard to iFixit, the only answer we can give you about cost is that if you repair it yourself, the only cost is whatever you pay for the parts you need - which you have to locate and purchase yourself.

Although they do carry parts for some devices, your Canon isn't one of them. If they did, there would be a subsection on the device page labelled "Parts" listing what they have for sale, and there isn't one on the device page for your camera. There are times when someone like @zephosk can suggest a source for parts when that's all you need.

If you were looking for help and advice on repairing your camera yourself, then you've come to the right place, but if you are looking for a repair shop to fix it for you, you would be better off calling local camera stores and asking for recommendations. iFixit prefers we don't offer recommendations for repair companies, as those can be very subjective.

@bananakat12345, I am curious about your reasoning for a downvote here. Not upset about it; it's your right to vote any way you want, but in the interest of being a better resource for iFixit users, I am interested to know what it was that you didn't like about my answer. You are, of course, always welcome to offer ideas, suggestions or even corrections of your own. Personally I usually reserve my own downvotes for answers that don't help the user, whether it is a general purpose non-helpful answer or something that is simply a copy of information already present in the thread.

Unfortunately the USB port on the 5D mark II is soldered onto the main PCB board. The only way to replace it would be to solder on a new one or to replace the whole main PCB board.

The rubber cap on the bottom of the camera is the Extension Terminal Cap (Part number: CB3-3972). You can either find a replacement on eBay, or if you search up the part number you can find other sites that sell replacement caps.
