The iOpener is an insulated, heat-retaining bag that can be heated in a microwave and used to transfer heat to the adhesive along the edge of an iPad or similar device.

Can we use hot water to heat it up?

I don´t own a microwave (but could borrow one from the neighbor).

I do own a Water-heater with thermostat. Could I use that if set to a specific temperature?

What temperature would be right?

Hello Thomas,

We have not done any sort of testing with regards to heating an iOpener in a waterbath, so if you have access to a microwave, it would be your best bet to borrow your neighbor's microwave to do the repair.

But in your testing, what temperature did you find to be needed to soften the glue?

Jason, do an "iFixit teardown", find out what you are selling. What's in it?
