There are two main ways to do this.

You can connect a USB cable between the camera and laptop. To open the files, treat it like a flash drive you would normally open when looking in the "My Computer" interface on the laptop.

If you do not have a readily available USB cable, you can also try removing your SD card from your camera and inserting it into the laptops SD port, located on the front of the laptop. If it does not automatically open, use the "My Computer" interface to find it, and manually open it.

Windows (I'm assuming you have Windows) there is a built-in Import feature that you can use when the device is detected by the operating system. Once Windows recognizes the camera as a drive you can right-click it and select Import. It will allow you to save the files to a specific location of your choice or to save it to the default Picture/Video folders in the Library.
