Why won't my tablet charge?

I purchased a new battery, replaced it, charged it. It still won't turn on.

If the battery had any juice you would be able to turn the tablet on without it taking charge. It could be a problem with either the screen, board or charging port. Most likely the board or charging port if there is no sound when trying to turn it on (meaning its not coming on). I've had a little experience with these tablets and will try my best in explaining the issues I faced.

Customer brought in a tablet with broken screen, I ordered two T-Mobile SM-607T tablets with charging problems but in working condition from an eBay seller hoping to get the screen from one and the next maybe get the charging issue fixed. Customer broken screen issue resolved. Second tablet, the charging problem was on the main board itself where the flex cable connects from the charging port.

When applying pressure with a finger on that connector and insert the charger it would take charge. When its released it would go to the battery sign with a circle in the middle(where it seem to be frozen), after a bit the screen back-light would flash dim/bright.

I cleaned the contacts, and after removing and inserting a few time I did get lucky, it charged fully, but went back to the same old after a few day when it needed charging again. None of the things I've tried since have worked. Only manual pressure worked at the connector.

My only option left is buying a board here which I'm about to do now.

Advice to you would be to take the tablet to a repair shop near you. They may be able to swap parts and troubleshoot the issue instead of you blindly buying parts.

Are you using a 2amp charger? If not, then you need to switch to a 2 amp charger. The original charger that came with the device should be good.

Does the battery compatible with your tablet?

I have the same model of tablet. My battery would not stay charged for more than 1 hr. So I did what most people do I logged on to ebay and bought a new OEM Battery from overseas. It took a little more than a month to get to me. So I installed it thanks to the teardown help from Ifixit!! And got the flashing bright and dim screen. So thinking it was maybe the charging port, My port was kind of sloopy. Ordered and replaced the port. Same issue, turns out I had a bad Battery. So made contact with the vendor and he made it right. Install the battery and all was well so I thought.

Now after all that I have done. I have a red X over the battery Icon. It still charges and yes I have the same OEM charging cable that is working as it should. checked it via my multi meter. Hope I did not lead you down the wrong path to bad.

Happy Repairs too all and too all a good night!! LOL
