Error has occured,hold the power button

My 3ds has been having this problem for a month and a half now. Each time i turn it on it works, then ten seconds later a message pops up saying An error has occurred. Hold down the POWER Button to turn off the power, then turn it on and try again. For help, visit support.Nintendo.com. I visited the site, nothing helped. I held the power button and turn it back on again and the same message popped up. it wont let me do anything without that message popping up
