All of the keys on the far left side do not seem to connect until I pound on them. Then they stutter and repeat. Keys 1, tab,caps lock, shift and A are affected. After I use them a while, they work ok. I didn't spill anything on the keyboard.

Try popping the key off of the keyboard and removing any particles and gunk you find underneath. If its a sticky film that keeps getting the keys stuck, clean if off using isopropyl alcohol. If this doesn't work you may need to replace the entire keyboard.
