Is the fan the only thing that is not working? After opening up the back, you should check the fan connections for any corrosion and clean those off as well as any other connections inside the computer. If those are all clean you can also do an SMC and PRAM reset that may help.

SMC Reset:

Shut down the computer.

Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.

On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time.

Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.

PRAM Reset:

Immediately press and hold the Option-Command-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears. Continue holding the keys down until your Mac restarts, and you hear the startup sound for the second time, and on the third chime, release the keys.

Hello i recently did the same thing, i spilled water on my macbook air, now it's working everything OK, except for the fan, the fan it's working since i turn on the computer, the technician say that, the temperature sensor it's damaged and it can't be fixed, does any one has ever try to repair the temperature sensor?

I think the temperature sensor is part of the logic board. I have the same issue, and I am wondering how to repair it. Changing the logic board is very costly. They go for around $300 on eBay. Can it be tested using Apple Hardware Test (AHT)?

I had a coffee spill, I dried everything, the laptop is not turning on except for the Fan, which sometimes goes fast some other time slow, no chimes, or backlights on the keyboard, screen black.

Should I diagnose disconnecting the screen and camera from the logic board? I've been trying to get an estimate from Apple by chat and phone and they do not provide that information, they want me to go to a genius bar, but time costs, if fixing this thing cost the same as a new laptop I prefer ordering a new one online

I would remove the logic board, and clean it thoroughly with a clean toothbrush and 99% isopropanol, then dry with something like a hair dryer to remove most of the isopropanol, and finally let it sit for a day to evaporate any residual alcohol left under BGA chips etc. It definitely sounds like there is something shorting a S0, S3, S5 or G3H voltage rail or a data line to ground on the motherboard, which is very unlikely a fault of the display or camera connectors. If this doesn't fix the issue, then your logic board will need repair.

Hi Sam, Thanks for the advise, I did that and after waiting, I turned on the Laptop, again only the Fan on high speed and after some time maybe a minute or more, the chimes play and os started. I was able to use the laptop for a moment then it turned off by itself.

So still trying to boot again to see if Diagnose mode can be launched

Are you running the computer from the AC adapter or the battery when this occurs? Try running from only one power source and see if the problem persists.

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

Hi Sam, I tried both and after a full cleanup with 91% isopropyl I got to boot the machine, but went of after a moment working. I keep cleaning and after that, the trackpad logic started getting more Voltage, a chip there I think it burned :S so ended up buying a new laptop, but still want to try fixing this one.
