Can I change the red and black wires for the vibration motors?

I disassembled my controller to diagnose one problem and another one came up. The small red and black wires that connect the motherboard to the vibration motors broke. I tried to strip them to melt them back on the motherboard. I don't have the proper tools to strip wires that small so I was cutting them little by little. When I finally successfully stripped them, they were too short to reach the motherboard. What is the name of the wire called and where can I get some? I'm thinking I will connect the new wires to my current short wires to reach the motherboard. I would like some expert opinion on this.
