iPhone new battery but no power

Hi everyone !

I get from a friend an iPhone 4S water damaged.

Symptoms :

- The iPhone don't boot on battery

- When I plug it to Mac, it boot, I could choose to restore or update, but whatever I do, when the iPhone reboot, my Mac display : Error 2001

What I do :

- Replace the battery : same error

- Disassemble everything, clean the motherbard and connector with 90° alcool, and reassemble : same error

The only thing I don't disassemble is the screen, because it turns on correctly when I plug it to my computer.

In fact, I am a bit desperate.

Either the new battery is still defective.

Either there was another problem that the battery power does not go well in the iPhone. Because on power supply it turn on, but only with battery, it don't turn on...

Anything I could try ?

Thanks !

Another ideas which could explain the new battery doesn't work ? Any element I can focus on ? Which part concerned the power and battery ? Thanks

I would highly suggest using a quality ultrasonic cleaner. Toothbrushes just don't cut it with water damage, as it can't reach places like an ultrasonic cleaner can, plus, ultrasonic cleaning is way safer than using a toothbrush, as you may end up knocking chips off using a toothbrush.

Thx for the answer, I can't buy an ultrasonic cleaner, if it doesn't work, I will pay for nothing...

Did you remove the EMI shields when you cleaned the logic board? When you do iPhone water damage repair, the only true way to be sure that you are cleaning it is to remove these shields, otherwise nothing is really getting cleaned. Use this guide and this video by Jessa in order to thoroughly clean the device. Once you have done that, we will be able to troubleshoot components.
