Diagnostic unit on 850 GLT

Where is the diagnostic unit on a Volvo 850 GLT 1997? It's not in the same place as my 850 SE. Front right by the washer filler.

The ODBII connector is under the coin tray in front of the shifter

Your newer 850 96&97 will need a obd2 scan tool reader to get the check engine codes. The plug in port is below the ash tray under the coin holder. Your older volvo is an obd1 and codes can be retrieved by a blinking led light.

I think auto zone stores. will check the codes at no charge.

I just found out that on our standard 95 850 GLT wagon the plug in ... is behind the passenger head lamp but they take a special type of reader not just any and under the hood toward the wind shield a sticker will tell you if its a I or II .... so now im off to find one of these special readers
