Why my tomrom is waiting for a valid gps signal

I enter an address and my gps say that is waiting for a valid gas signal why.

I had a similar problem and did 2 things. 1. Hold down power button for20 seconds and see what happens. That usually resets everything. 2 . Go to the website and refresh everything, it has a program to pick up gps quicker.
