Shuts down, no signal and battery problems only with sim card inserted

I have 3 iPhones with the same symptom. Battery goes down quickly, shuts down or no signal ONLY when you insert de SIM card. I've tested all these 3 iPhones with no SIM card, and they don't shut down, no baterry drain. I've tested with several SIMs cards that work perfectly in other devices (I mean other iPhones)

I also concluded the same. In my case it seem batteries got faulty as I moved to 110V country from 220V and used a voltage transformer in front of adapter to charge the phone. It did something bad with the batteries. Though phone works fine when on charging. It shuts down only when I try to place a call. Thanks for this ans

in my opinion - there are 2 possible problems (if fluid damages are ruled out in the first place)

1, the batteries are extremely weak - as soon as the phone uses the mobile phone part - the battery crashes

2, the Skyworks GSM/Edge Power amplifier (SKY77340) is faulty

i use an infra red thermometer to find those faulty parts

but as i said, those two things are pretty common failures on other phones

really good answer. I don know about this infra red thermometer, and it seems to be a useful tool. Where I can found it, and how do I use it?

²majesty - i worked as technician in a nokia store and was self employed for years in that business. ²macpatagon - search ebay for infrared thermometer - but you can use the cheapest one for 2 or 3$ - it's not important to have the exact temperature - important is the difference. using it is simple, press a button and hold it directly over the parts - if you hold it over every area of the board - you can find faulty ic's extremely fast

@ Markus: I can see that. You have to have hands on experience to troubleshoot bizarre cases like this one.
