I suggest making sure you inserted the battery in the right direction. I know this sounds like a simple thing, but someone I know did a similar mistake and ended up throwing it away when the solution was so simple.

So this might be a bit obvious, but if your battery has a sticker take it off unless it says otherwise, because I didn't and i spent AGES trying to figure out what was wrong and then my dad came and took the sticker off and then it started working. So yea
