Also: After a couple years (5+ in case of my Acer Aspire5500 series) the adhesive (white) paste between cpu and heat sink becomes brittle and deteriorates. It is user replaceable (AFTER warranty voids), and there are youtube instruction videos to guide you. Components are cheap to buy (Frys electronics, for instance) Best of luck

It turned out that my laptop doesn't havethe air cooling intakes cut out at the factory so there is only an exhaust hole and no place to get fresh air in. Check the bottom of your laptop and see if your laptop's air cooling vent is cut out.

Try to put something under the devices to lift it a little off the ground because the heat sink is located on the left side just below the device and the outside air field is small, I think.
