The LG G Watch R is a Smartwatch manufactured by LG that includes many features of a Smartphone and a full-circle P-OLED display.

Do this device have a wifi antenna?

Does the G Watch R have a wifi antenna? Does it share the Bluetooth antenna?

Thanks

It looks like it doesn't per LG's specs sheet: LG W110-G Watch-R

Here's a write up I found that helps explain things - All Android Wear watches have Wi-Fi chips, but some won’t get Wi-Fi support

Quote from Ars Technica: "The reason the G Watch and G Watch R aren't getting updated isn't because of the Wi-Fi chip, it's because they lack Wi-Fi antennas. LG just didn't pack them into the G Watch and G Watch R."

it has a Broadcom BCM4343WKUBG chip

the chip is wifi 802.11/bt 4.1 LE

it only needs 1 antenna to work so LG could simply be lying about "not being able to use wifi on the GWR".

ITS CAPABLE...

You are right it has the chip, so it could, its just not wired up.

The spec sheet on the moto 360 doesn't list it either. Wifi capability has never been mentioned prior to the 5.1.1 announcement. connectivity only lists Bluetooth4.0. http://moto360.motorola.com/?gclid=CjwKE...

So this may have been resolved long ago, but here's the deal. The watch has a WiFi ship, but it wasn't enabled at first. They needed to re-certify it once the software could support it.

I can confirm that later software updates enabled the WiFi chip on my G watch R, and it does work!
