Upgrading to 3GB RAM - order to insert RAM?

I'm upgrading from 2GB to the max 3GB RAM for my iMac 2118.

So I will be replacing one of the existing 1 GB chips with the new 2GB chip.

Does it make a difference a) which 1GB chip I replace or b) which of the two slots I install the new 2GB chip?

Thanks.

David B

No, it does not make a difference. Just make sure you properly seat the new RAM in it's position and you will be fine.

Can you mix 2 different of RAM? Or is it better to take 2x2GB?
