PRAM battery connector is broken

Please can you help me. The connector for the PRAM battery on the on the board is broken. Now I have to braze it and I hope I can manage this.

Can you tell me which point on the board is for the red and which is for the black cable.

Hello Markus

Thanks for your help. I have an image on the following link [http://yfrog.com/6ximg0870nj. I hope you can see it.

Can you tell me which of the pins I must use? I think that the two blue circuit pathes are the right ones, but I am not shure enough.

Thanks

if you still have the connector - resoldedr it to the board.

it has 4 soldering points - 2 are for the +/- and 2 are only to hold the coonnector on the board - ignore the 2 circuit pathes - if you dont have the connector - solder the 2 cables directly on the soldering points on the left of your picture.

i uploaded a picture in my answer above

Thank you very very much. Now my MBP is running as before with a new lower case.

You've been a great help.

P.S.: Your name seems to be german.

Deshalb nochmals besten Dank auch auf Deutsch.

This in not fun work. I used powerful magnification, and the smallest soldering tip imaginable. I turned my heat down to the lowest effective setting. Slowly, I established a solder droplet on what part of the traces that remained. then, get solder on the connector pads. Plop the connector on top and sneak the soldering iron onto the conductors one at a time while pushing on the connector with a screwdriver. Give yourself a few hours -do not rush It can be done.

Hi guys,

I have the same problem like wschubi, I accidentally ripped off the whole pram battery connection.

My Question would be how you can reconnect it, did you just glue it back on with a tiny drop of glue in the middle of the connector or tape it on, or braze it back on?

Bzw. das ganze geht auch auf Deutsch, aber damit alle was davon mitkriegen hab ich es mal auf Englisch geschrieben.

Hoffe ihr könnt mir dabei weiterhelfen.

Beste Grüße

Ahh sorry, I didn't read it carefully enough,

wschubi already wrote that he trys to braze it.

@wschubi, can you tell me which tools you used and if it worked out for you?

Because I will try to do the same thing.

Vielen Dank
