Does not agitate. All else is ok.

whirlpool 1cwtw4740yq spins but will not agitate. This washer is only 1 1/2 y/o. The first one only lasted 6months. I am an American that lives in Belize now. I think this washer is junk! I recently opened it up and the 'teeth' in the unit are all fine. I reassembled it and tightened some more. Sounds like a switch is not allowing it to engage. Perhaps the synchronous motor. Your thoughts please.
