Transparent rectangles across the bottom portion of the screen.

So recently my phone has been getting productively worse. It started with like ghostly clicks on things I don't want and it just writing complete jibberish when I'm trying to write something to my friends. I have not tried to open up my iPhone or do i want to. I have tried to restart and just turning off and on but the rectangles are still there. The area it is affecting the most is right where it would say swipe right to unlock on the lock screen. Or for better perspective on the keyboard it is along the line that allows you to capitalize, z, x, c, v, b, n, m, and delete, all those are currently useless. Another thing is it doesn't respond on the screen where I want it to.

First my iPhone (5 btw) started clicking random things such as the search bar, now on top of that when I click the top left of the screen to go back a page it doesn't respond 55% of the time AND NOW I have a line of transparent squares on the top of my screen that comes and goes. The rectangles just started today after my phone died. I put it on the charge and when it started up the squares were there.. never happened until just now. I've only had this phone a week and I paid $120 for it.. smdh

i have this exact problem as the original poster said especially the kepyboard part. seems we have it in the same spot. please i've tried this solution and i dont know if its because im not doing it correctly or what because it's not working. please help! its urgent im using iphone 6 and i just got it last week and it has zero damage.

Now the rectangles usually relate to the screen connectors being loose if you open up and make sure they are pressed down 100% then recheck screen.

If it still looks bad then is most likely a damaged screen

Thanks for the reply, I don't want to open up my phone because I don't think I have the right tools and I don't want to further damage the phone. I will just take it into apple and have them fix it. I just didn't know if there was something I can do fix it like restarting the phone but thanks anyway!

Well it was dropped once but it was in an otter box which I thought was suppose to protect from this, the ghost like clicks just started happening out of nowhere but the rectangles came after a drop while it was in the case

wow i just tried this, after 3 months of thinking m phone is on the way out it seems to have completely solved it, pressing it right down around the various points of the screen has removed the white squares.

So I’ve had my fair share of butterfingers and dropped my phone multiple times causing cracks. At first it was for because it was my screen protector but as time went on my screen got progressively worse. It was soon not able tap the lower half of my screen without it going bonkers. If I even tapped something it would try to do a million different things at once. Thinking it was just the protector problem, I took it off only to find out it was the screen itself. I now have faded boxes running along the bottom half of my screen, not allowing me to tap anything along those lines. I’ve tried the best of my ability to fix it but nothing. I have a iPhone SE. any suggestions?

My iPod 6 has transparent squares after about 1 week after I dropped it. I think it’s cause the water touched it but I’m not sure. The squares won’t let me touch that part of the screen. It’s in the lower part! Someone please help!!

Well, I have the same issue, except now my whole touchscreen is dead. I’ve tried restoring it, resetting it, all the solutions tried above, but nothing worked. Any suggestions?

I think the solution is still the same. I think the screen needs to be replaced. Either by Apple or buying a kit off iFixit, if you have confidence in yourself.
