Loca or oca for replacing glass?

Hy friends,

which glue is the best for replacing glasses on iphones?

After i read some questions here i think the better glue is the oca glue?

And does someone know the pros and contras for oca and loca glue?

thanks

The main difference between LOCA and OCA is that LOCA glue is in liquid form. OCA is more of a solid that you can handle. However OCA requires an expensive machine that you will need to buy to take any bubbles out.

I would stick with LOCA, UV light is very cheap. If this is only for one glass only repair, I would suggest you just purchase a complete screen replacement assembly. LOCA, OCA and other technical repairs are meant for repair shops or people who do these repairs all the time.

Hope this helps!

loca and oca is a one thing no difference but loca is easy way to pressing the glass and oca need a expensive machine. loca is no make any bubble between the lcd and glass and oca make a bubbles after pressing the glass and no way to remove bubble without expensive laminating machine

To properly use OCA here is the method I use.

lay oca sheet on glass slowly roll it on from bottom working your way to top. Make sure the oca sheet is pressed up against roller as your laying it or it will get airbubbles. do this rather lightly as to not smudge the oca sheet causing bubbles and damage to the glue. next lay the oca sheet with glass on the lcd and line up correctly. then i gently press in the corners and use the roller on the back of the lcd pressing from the bottom working your way to the top. Using a lot more pressure than before, do this slowly. I also force the roller torwards the corners. Next place it in Autoclave for 10 minutes at 70c. if done correctly there will be no bubbles. if there is place on a hot pad at 95celsius for 10 minutes then throw in back in the autoclave for 20 minutes at 70 c.

ask for questions i do this for 40 hours a week refurbishing phones all day.

Hi, so if i understand it correctly you are doing the refurbrish with no vacum at all and using only the roller for the oca and autoclave?

Local glass and lcd repair shop says they won't touch devices with oca glued down glass [ some samsung models and lumia 950s ] only will do glass replacement for loca glued down glass. They say its because removing oca glued glass too often leads to breaking lcd not from heat gun to release glue but from process of separating old glass using wire, plastic guitar picks provided in glass replacement kit, etc. Are they missing some trick to lifting old oca glued down glass w/o breaking lcd?

I would go with the OCA (Optically clear adhesive) pre-cut film for your model iPhone because it's much simpler to work with.

Loca is good but does require that you have the Ultraviolet lamp to cure the glue properly. Plus it's a messy job and difficult to accomplish if you've never worked with LOCA before. The OCA pre-cut film is just peel and stick, very simple to work with!

ok i take oca thank you..

but do you know what i need for OCA ?

what is the difference between the Vacuum machine and the autoclave, which function did they have?

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

The autoclave is for removing the bubbles on OCA between the LCD & touch panel. Have a look at this listing for an autoclave and read the listing, it will help give you a better idea of the process required.

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

oh ok, do you have a video with the vacuum process?

At least i need only the Autoclave and the vacuum machine, the glue removing i can do with the hand.

crwdns2934285:0crwdne2934285:0

Hello friend,

best of course is OCA Glue. KN6.2 UV OCA is very good, easy remove bubbles.

As cheap as the complete glass/LCD assembly costs, don't waste your time trying to replace just the glass. You'll put more into all the extra glue and machines than it is worth

From a business point of view, investing in good OCA equipment now would be wasting time and money. The creme of the crop has already been picked and harvest time is over.

Hi, why do you think so?

I'm asking because I'm currently thinking about it as the only way I see to run succesfully a reparation business nowadays.

I'm even considering a cryogenic separator machine, but this trully costs an eye...

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

I gotta say i'm in no way perfect but your point of view is absolutely wrong.

iPhone XS Max cracked but working screen replacement costs $400-$500 .

iPhone XS Max cracked but working screen glass- only repair $100-$200.

Where do you think are the persons going to buy? Of course with the "cheaper" lol

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

crwdns2934285:0crwdne2934285:0

If you can, OCA.

The way all the iphone LCD are made, you'll quite likely get loca in the backlight layers, which can be replaced, but they're a pain to clean up properly before putting a new backlight on.

I bought a second hand MAG12 laminator/autoclave in one, lovely bit of kit. I also am looking into freeze machines.
