Are all these steps needed

I'm looking at replacing he RAM and SSD card in this model. Walter Galan did the repair manuals for it and I realize he needed to tear every thing down. My question is "are all those steps needed". I would appreciate advice for someone who has done it. It seems to me that the fan removal and power supply removal would not be necessary.

And the answer is: yes, they are all necessary. What a PITA.

The SSD card is Apple priority and outrageously expensive, over $850 for the 256 and $1350 for the 512. And its slot is on the back of the logic board so the whole thing has to be torn down for either a RAM upgrade or SSD upgrade. Another "bend over" from Apple.
