Is there a way to to turn an iMac into a monitor?

I have a 21.5" iMac that seemingly has a broken Logic Board. I can hear the fan spin up, and possibly the hard drive or optical drive? I've decided that I don't even really want an iMac, and would like to turn it into a standalone monitor. I understand that I will need a LCD driver board, and I believe I found one for LM215WF3, which is I believe is what I need.

I'm fairly certain I know what to do once I get what I need, but will my driver board going to supply power to my LCD? Is there anything I need to know about doing this? Has anyone else ever done this?

Gary Andrews, this will totally depend on where you get the LCD driver from. Always make sure that you contact the vendor before and clarify those questions. I purchased one (also for a different panel than yours) just to see how it works, check on here. All I needed was a power supply and the results were pretty amazing. Hope this helps, good luck.
