Keyboard stops working

I have a Macbook Pro 17" A1212 that the keyboard stopped working after I putting the device to sleep. Keys started not working and all od the sudden all of them malfunction at the same time. I search and order a keyboard through ebay and have replaced it but nothing happen to fix the problem, it still remains the same. Can it be a firmware problem? Does anyone have a solution on how to fix it?

Does a USB (any USB - doesn't have to be Apple) work?
