There is a tiny micro switch in the Hot Shoe (flash attachment on the top). I have seen where it will get stuck in the down position. Therefore the camera thinks it has an external flash on top. Use a straight pin or needle to pull the switch back up.

Make sure you have a good strong battery. I have had to clean the grooves under and around the flash with a cutip and toothpick using minimal alcohol
