My Samsung is crappy

So my dad gives me a tab 3 as a graduation gift but unfortunately it's so glitchy, it's slow, it's annoying. I try to get help and the websites kept saying restart it or close all the application but none of it worked. Please help me before I destroy it because it's seriously
