Searching even without simcard. No reperation.

Hello my Ifixit friends.

A customer came to me today with a problem that I don't have the knowledge to solve, so I come for help!

The phone constantly says, "Searching" in the top left, despite not even having a sim card in. I've tried several different known working sim cards, ensured that the time is correct in the phone etc.

They claim they have not dropped the phone/got water in it etc etc. I've oppened it up now and it seems to be that they are right. I see no signs of water or pry damage next to the battery...

Any ideas? :)
