Can I replace the old Airport Card with Atheros AR5BXB112?

I'd like to use AirDrop feature on my old MacBook, but the original Airport Card inside my MacBook doesn't support it. So I am thinking of replacing it with Atheros AR5BXB112, which is used in MacBook Pro 2009 or iMac Mid 2011. Possible?

Add : My MacBook is a Late 2006 model (A1181) with Core 2 Duo 1.83. (not Core Duo)

Won't work those are 802.11 ac cards and your hardware (and likely your OS) wont support them. If you really have to have this feature see if there is a USB wireless dongle that will support AirDrop in the OS you're using. (FWIW I would not recommend trying to run Mavericks or Yosemite on a machine that age).

If this answer is acceptable please remember to return and mark it.
