Went for a swim, no power iPhone 5

iPhone 5 ATT

Was dropped in jacuzzi about a month ago. Shop cleaned board, replaced 8 pin USB connector, and battery...still no signs of life at all.

Any ideas where to start?

Well as it turns out I didnt know the previous owner had the old parts put back in so I just need to order a new battery. He said it only works when plugged in even with a new usb connectore and battery. Why is this?
