does the use of 2 different 'stick' sizes really cause problems or is it an urban myth?

Does anybody have the evidence, is the ram accessed interleaved?

I just read here the importance of the balanced RAM, whereas Apple recommends ... not a strong statement, they would say s.th. like must.

I fear the only people who could really answer this are bound by NDA's
