What is the best screwdriver kit on planet Earth?

Hi!

Dealing with laptops constantly, I've gone through 6-7 mediocre screwdriver kits in the last year or two, and at night I often lie awake imagining that there must be a really really awesome kit out there that has all the appropriate sizes, with magnetic tips, and that is made of super high-quality materials, and that will last years. I'm sick of screwdrivers that break in half eventually, and ends that wear down after a month of heavy use.

Has anyone out there found the ultimate screwdriver kit? My current favorite is the Newer Technology 11 Piece Tool Set, and it's acceptable, but since I use screwdrivers all day long, I'd love something more than acceptable.

Thanks!

I agree, I've been using Facom micro-tech screwdrivers daily, and one phillips is literally 20 years old, and barely showing signs of wear.

I have gone thru plenty of tools myself, and my personal favorite is Wiha tools. I've been rocking the same PH0, PH00, T6 and T8 from them for about 2 years, (heavy use everyday) They don't break, bend, or wear. I use their ESD Static Dissipative Screwdrivers - perfect for working on Laptops.

I've had some craftsman precision tools too, while the quality is pretty poor on these, at least when they break you can just walk into a sears store, hand them a broken tool, and get a new one for free.

iFixit is (patiently) waiting for a new screwdriver kit to arrive. It is by far the best I have used.

57 pieces! Philips, slot, Torx, star, tri-wing...so many bits! (I shouldn't be so excited over a bit set, but...well, here we are)

Keep your eyes open for this to be added to iFixit's store!

Update: the kit is here!!!

I bought one of these when you first got them in and it continues to be my favorite kit ever -- works well, holds magnetism, and the bits don't wear out. Do you know if the handles are available as a separate item? I'd love to get 5 or so handles, and have the most common bits permanently installed.

PB Swiss. You can buy them in the US from Tool Lady. They are expensive, but worth it if you use them all day every day. I've had a set of bits for 15 years, the slotted (common) bits show no signs of wear. They also make great posidriv bits. Disclaimer: I do not work for said company, I was just giving an example.

I picked up a tool kit from Radio Shack, about $16.00 to do my HD switch. I had checked Home Deport, Lowe's and a couple of local stores. I needed the #6 Torq and no one had it. This set is complete.

IMHO the best kit is the StarTech.com 7-Piece Screwdriver Computer Tool Kit.

Super set, great feel and function for the price. I looked at so many sets before ordering these and I'm very pleased with them.

Wiha PicoFinish for precision work , + some Wiha SoftFinish ph1 ph2

best start with the 7pcs set ph and slotted, + t4-t9 torx, then buy drivers individually, t6h t8h, ipr1 ipr4.

Dont care about the price if u use them a lot, easily can spend 200-300eur but u will have everything for many years.

buy more ph00 ph0 drivers, most used.

buy PicoFinish AND SoftFinish ph0, the difference is in torque.

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

sry not t6h, but t8h t10h, all ps3 ps4 using t9h but works perfectly with t8h, dont even need normal torx, the Tamper Resistant works on normal torx screws
