Fourth generation iPhone. Repair is straightforward, but the front glass and LCD must be replaced as a unit. GSM / 8, 16, or 32 GB capacity / Model A1332 / Black and White.

Battery removal or disconnection only?

Thank you for the guide on the Iphone 4 Camera replacement (3142).

However, for some part replacements, like the camera, it is not necessary to remove the battery entirely but just to disconnect it. The battery is usually firmly glued and a lot of time is wasted and the battery may be damaged.

Thus, the guide on Camera replacement (3142) should not include the FULL guide "iPhone 4 Battery Replacement (3141)" but a shorter guide "iPhone 4 Battery disconnection (24135)" which I wrote. Unfortunately, my changes have be denied without any comment and people will continue to complain on the difficulty to unglue the battery.

Do you have any idea why the battery should be removed entirely?

Unplugging the battery is fine and wouldn't need to be removed for that repair but I always remove the battery anyway it's just a case of preference
