Replaced graphics card, now my CPU fan keeps running
Please help...
I recently diagnosed and replaced my graphics card. The repair worked flawlessly again, just like new. However upon start up the CPU fan started running at a high speed and won't stop. I have zapped the pram and reset the SMC a number of times. The SMC fan app says it is not running hot, nor does it feel hot anywhere on my machine. It is running around 90 degrees fahrenheit.

Don't have a fix, but I would start with looking to see if anything was possibly damaged on the logic board. Specifically small components that may be used to vary the voltage to the fan.
Or if you just need it to stop you could place a inline resistor to make it go slower.

I have this same machine sitting on my bench with apparent GPU problems. I will be making a guide for doing it this week. How did you fix your problem and what were the symptoms? Here's my question on it: 3 Green LEDs, tone, restart, black screen
I will keep my eye out for possible causes of a fan issue.

I got the issue of the fast fan speed solved by unplugging in the GPU thermal connector from the logic board and flipping it over and plugging it back in. Now I have normal fan speed even with 4-5 programs open at the same time. Yay!

I ran Apple Service Diagnostic 3S123 and discovered I now have an error that states:
Thermal Interface -Video Controller:G92gt (test #4) -TIM Test 75 percent Gardband-Check that CPU heatsink is properly attached, using product spec theta dh + 75 percent guard band.
Any suggestions on how to fix that? I can't find anything online about it.
