How to replace the digitizer?

I read the guide and watched a few youtube videos, but when I tried to replace a cracked iPod nano 7g digitizer I couldn't get the LCD out. I ended up breaking the thin metal frame around it and scratching it, as well as bending it. I successfully removed the digitizer. How do you get the entire display assembly out? Also, will an iOpener help me remove the small back piece (above bluetooth antenna), as I had trouble with this as well? Thank you.

The iOpener should help. Make sure that the spudger is under the entire display assembly to prevent bending the metal midframe.
