So a customer has come with a dead iPhone, tried a new battery, connector and still nothing.
So what bits should I be looking at next. I read the 3Gs but as the boards are so different I wondered if anyone could give me some tips on what to be testing i.e. pins and diagram of the locations of the pins

Is the dead battery icon popping up at all when plugged in? If not, I recommend getting 91% isopropyl alcohol and brushing some into the charging port with an unused tooth brush. I've seen this problem many times and the cause of it is corrosion on the charging pins. Hope this helps!
