ipad 2 now at boot logo with scrolling text

So i've just replaced an iPad screen, as far as I could see it was jail broken when I collected it. I've replaced only the screen and now it is going to boot mode.

I've plugged it into my mac and it won't pick it up.

Is there anything else I can try before I and wipe the whole thing!

It was working fine before I replaced the screen and it was a perfect replacement.

Has anyone attempted the below sequence and will it wipe everything?

Update there isn't anyway to save the data. In the end the screen had been smashed and the connector had been damaged throwing it into chaos

For Boot mode you mean DFU mode or Recovery mode?
