What can I fix to make the screen work?

I dropped my phone on the kitchen floor (i.e. hard slate tile) and although the phone seems to be working, the screen is not displaying anything. Could I get away with just replacing the screen? or would that not fix the phone since the glass is intact?

I'm a total newb at this sort of thing, so go easy :)

It's hard to say whether replacing the screen will fix it. If the phone seems to be turning on and off that's a good sign that the electronics might still be functioning properly. Give it a shot replacing the screen assembly following the instructions below, it's worth a try!
